This page says what personal data anotherangle handles, why, and what you can do about it. The controller is the operator named on the imprint page; contact details are on the imprint page.

What we collect from you

• Email address — used to send you a sign-in code and to identify your account. We keep it while your account exists.
• Session cookie — a random token that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is strictly necessary for sign-in and sets nothing else.
• Display name and bio — chosen by you, shown publicly on your publications and comments.
• What you publish and comment — public by design, for as long as you keep it published.
• Network address — used only to limit how often sign-in codes and reports can be sent. It is stored as a one-way hash for at most a day, never as the address itself.
• Reports — if you report content, we store your reason, the time, and the email address you optionally give.

Your unpublished drafts and local profile live in your browser’s storage and are not sent to us until you publish. Sign-in and publishing rest on performing our agreement with you; keeping the service safe and handling reports rests on our legitimate interest in running it lawfully.

If you are named in a perspective

Users publish claims about named people, companies and organisations. That is personal data about the person named, processed on the basis of the user’s and the public’s interest in discussing matters of public concern. Our terms require such claims to concern a person’s public role only. If a perspective names you and you believe it is false, private, or otherwise unlawful, use the Report link on the page, or write to us. We review every notice, remove content that breaks our terms or the law, and record the reason. You also have the rights below in respect of that data.

Who else processes data

• Vercel hosts the site and provides cookieless page-view analytics (no personal profile is built).
• Supabase hosts the database where accounts, publications, comments and reports are stored.
• Resend delivers sign-in codes and notices by email.
• OpenAI receives the names, types and relationship wording of a perspective when you start research, to search the web and summarise sources. Requests are sent with storage disabled on our side; OpenAI’s own retention terms apply to them.

How long we keep things

Account data: until you delete your account. Publications and comments: until you or a moderator remove them. Sign-in codes: ten minutes. Rate limit hashes: up to a day. Reports and removal records: kept so we can show what was decided and why, for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Deleting your account deletes your publications and comments. Write to the contact address and we will answer within a month. You may also complain to your data protection authority.
